I’m not a baby boomer, nor was I seeking to lose weight or improve my physical stature in any way. So what drew me to Food First?

In my early twenties, I had the usual skin problems. Due to my work, I was unable to resort to the prescription medication that many of my friends and even family would use (science has since proved that I was fortunate to have been denied this option due to the proven long-term side effects of the medication). So I turned towards nutrition and lived by raw food alone for about three months.

The physical results kept my enthusiasm up, but what I did not expect was the resultant mental clarity and ease of concentration. It was only the practicality of pursuing the strict raw food regimen that eventually (and reluctantly) drove me away—but I had certainly learnt the value of whole foods.

When Pulse found me, it was the answer to a lot of dilemmas of convenience that I and much of the western world face today. I was eating one to five raw, whole foods a day and drinking one glass of water for every five glasses of something else. I signed up straight away.

Now, I get at least 26 raw, whole foods each day and drink six glasses of water for every one of anything else. I had been pretty good about exercise before Food First, running three miles twice a week. I’m still running, but I’ve added a lunchtime walk of 45 minutes, and I do it four times a week. With these changes, I’m satisfied from less food, and my cravings for healthier food have increased. If I indulge in chocolate or sweets, I can only have a small amount without feeling sick. My body feels more in tune and is not fooled by empty nutrition anymore.

I completed the 10-day program prior to traveling interstate to meet with friends for a six-hour group meditation. I really appreciated the heightened level of awareness and reduced turbulence of mind as a result of the ten-day process. I was very thankful for the support from my sponsor and was realizing that the Food First program was more like a community than a company.

I honestly believe Pulse has the power to prepare the masses for the new state of consciousness that humanity must embrace. Even as we do start to encounter competition in this industry, at least it will be competition to restore the health of humanity and not to take it away. In my opinion, the work ahead—for those who choose to accept it—is as much a service as a business.

I have decided to continue with Food First for another 10 days because I am getting good results and feel they will only amplify during a second 10 day program. Although my scale indicates I have only lost 4 pounds in the last 11 days of eating Pulse, I am confident that I will more accurately be able to report the inches lost. The scale alone is not telling the whole story.

It is intriguing to attempt to articulate the wonderfully subtle changes occurring during this process. It seems that the food First program diet of 24 (or more) whole foods with lots of pure water, the body doesn’t have to struggle with trying to assimilate complicated, impure, processed foods. With more raw, whole foods, the body quickly starts to purify itself of perhaps 50 or more years of accumulated overload.

I have struggled with a love of sugar since I became a vegetarian in 1967, and from the first time I tried some samples of Pulse, I didn’t experience all the usual pulls toward sugary foods. Bakeries didn’t call out to me. Ice cream was not really all that interesting. Even cookies lost their charm.

The large variety of whole foods—fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, EFA-rich oils—that make up Pulse created a sense of satisfaction in me. I felt happily satiated from eating a relatively small amount of Pulse. Eating Pulse makes a subtle but significant difference, one that might have the ability to save people’s lives in extreme cases surely, but this difference can bring about in a short of time an enormous improvement in quality of life for almost all people who are already enjoying a high quality of life.

The Food First program changed how we eat. My husband and I have been trying to lose weight for years. Now, with primary nutrition, it is working. Because Pulse is very satisfying and mildly sweet, the smaller portions work. We are both continuing to lose weight on a slow and steady course.

It’s been about 6 weeks since I learned about Pulse. What the Food First program taught me was how to eat right. I'm always on the go so I never had time for good food. The fastest was coffee. With Food First, it's not just about weight loss, it’s about inches lost and the overall feeling that my body is assimilating the nutrients from whole foods. It's about no drastic energy drops–not right after a meal or between meals. It's good to know that with Pulse available, even if I am on the go, I don't have to resort to eating unhealthy junk food. My parents were very health conscience, so I was raised with soy beans and very little meat, and lots of vitamins. Before I got married I had glandular fever, which returned after my marriage.
